Ending & New Game+ explained
Finish the game to unlock New Game+. Collect amber to add optional challenge modifiers to a replay.
In this guide
Is there more than one main ending?
Terrible Lizards has one main ending.
You do not need to chase a fabricated set of good, bad or secret-ending requirements. Use optional exploration to learn more about the world, and use the collectible and achievement goals to plan a replay without confusing those goals with branching story outcomes.
Unlock New Game+ by finishing the game
New Game+ becomes available after completion. The developer’s first-playthrough estimate is roughly six to ten hours, with exploration changing how long a run takes. Treat that as planning guidance rather than a timer you need to beat.
Amber opens challenge modifiers
A further modifier unlocks for every fourth amber collected. The four effects described by the developer are:
| Modifier effect | What changes |
|---|---|
| Bodycam presentation | Changes the presentation of the replay. |
| Slippery surfaces | Makes footing less stable. |
| Keep moving | Staying still for more than a couple of seconds becomes lethal. |
| Low gravity | Changes the feel of the traversal. |
Build a replay around one change
The modifiers can be combined. For a more understandable first replay, begin with one change and learn how it affects a route you already know. Once you can recognize which movement adjustment it asks for, combining effects becomes a deliberate challenge rather than a collection of surprises.
Keep the amber search and the modifier run as separate goals if doing both at once makes the route frustrating. Use the collectible starter stops to build your search notes, then return to a familiar chapter route for the replay.
